Description
Purpose: This position exists to develop and maintain all configurator applications in support of integrated manufacturing for all divisions of Jayco.
Essential Functions
- Manage the creation and maintenance of all configuration database applications according to product data management, product development and engineering records requirements.
- Maintain data for all product configurations in support of inventory, order management and service needs.
- Manage materials within the product configuration databases to represent manufacturing processes and production confirmation points in support of product costing, product supply chain and product specification requirements.
- Verify all product changes have product engineering record used for development of BOM.
- Validate data inputs and the expected outputs of all attributes as applicable to all product configuration databases.
- Analyze final configurator output for completeness and correctness to ensure no changes are required in bill of materials and product costing steps.
- Identify process and system gaps making recommended solutions to support improvements.
Additional Functions
- Facilitate appropriate use of specification and configuration data in the organization.
- Provide testing support related to patches and system upgrades.
- Provide subject matter expertise on product configurations derived from configurator databases in a problem solving environment.
Experience / Knowledge
- Requires a minimum of 5-7 years related experience.
- RV industry experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred – minimum of 2 years of college level work.
Necessary Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates analytical problem-solving skills while using good judgement and decision making processes to diagnose problems and recommend solutions in complex situations.
- Critical thinking ability, problem solving sensitivity and inductive reasoning skills are needed.
- Requires ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions along with ability to interpret technical information.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are required with demonstrated ability to communicate technical information.
- Must display professionalism in all interactions and the ability to maintain a positive attitude through periods of adversity and disagreement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently while working in a fast-paced environment and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail consistently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including AX, and an understanding of Sequel is beneficial.
Work Requirements
- This position may require sitting, standing, and working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 90% of the day.
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 20 pounds.
- This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
