Purpose: Maintains the maintenance of Jayco grounds and repairs machinery or mechanical equipment, installs new machines, performs carpentry duties and a wide variety of other higher skilled maintenance functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Grades driveways as needed.
• Mows lawns, sprays for weeds, and cleans fence rows.
• Assists in mapping, transit and surveying work.
• Removes and hauls snow, as needed.
• Maintains nursery beds and landscape.
• Repairs machinery or mechanical equipment. Diagnoses sources of trouble, dismantles or partly dismantles machines and performs repairs involving fitting parts, replacing broken or defective parts, etc. Reassembles machines and makes all necessary adjustments for proper operation.
• Installs new machines or equipment; dismantles and installs machines when changes in plant layout are required.
• Performs carpentry duties necessary to construct and maintain building woodwork and equipment in good repair.
• Plans and lays out work; operates a variety of carpenter’s hand and power tools, etc.
• Paints structures, repairs woodwork, drywall, and plaster.
• Lays brick and repairs plumbing fixtures.
• Repairs, alters and maintains a variety of tools and equipment.
• Performs major and minor electrical repairs. Performs start up procedures and trouble shoots electrical and mechanical equipment. Repairs, maintains and installs HVAC systems and makes related adjustments.
• Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance. Performs grounds duties to include grading and snow removal. Maintains boilers.
• Performs welding activities.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.
• Regular attendance is required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires 5 to 7 years related experience and knowledge equivalent to a 2-year technical college education.
• Requires working knowledge of several maintenance trades.
• Requires the ability to work with a wide variety of hand and power tools, and to work from prints/drawings, etc.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
